The Philippine Traditional Knowledge Digital Library on Health was established through the joint efforts of the University of Makati (UMak), College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS), and Institute of Pharmacy (IOP). This initiative is supported by partner institutions engaged in documenting traditional health knowledge and practices from Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) and non-IP communities across the country.

The College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS) and the Institute of Pharmacy (IOP) of the University of Makati collaboratively support the development of the HERBACURE system through interdisciplinary expertise in technology and healthcare. CCIS leads the design, development, and implementation of the system’s digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence integration, and data management processes to ensure efficient and innovative technological solutions. Meanwhile, the Institute of Pharmacy provides pharmaceutical knowledge, clinical perspectives, and evidence-based validation to promote the safe, ethical, and responsible use of medicinal plant information. Together, the two institutions strengthen digital health innovation, research, and community engagement in advancing responsible herbal medicine education and healthcare awareness.
